B-I-N-G-O!!
I have discovered a great new tool to use when creating charts or posters in the classroom.....
The BINGO daubers from Dollar Tree! They come in all diferent colors and are inexpensive, easy to handle and use! I love them!
Here is an example of the brainstorming charts I created for my substitute to use with my students tomorrow.

Picture This....
So, apparently I am having picture issues....Well, it seems, that there was a link between the pictures that I removed from Google+ and the pictures on my blog. I did not realize that my pictures from my camera roll were loading onto Google+ and I deleted them, in turn deleting were they were linked too. I will be reloading the pictures and trying to figure out a way around good old Google+.

Flowering Fun
End of the Year Reflection Flower
This is a cute way for students to reflect and share their thoughts about their school year.
It will also look great as an open house display.
Simply copy>Have students answer the questions>Cut out around the solid lines>Finally, use green tissue paper to create the stem and leaves.
I would also suggest copying a second flower (a blank one) and using it behind the filled in one, to add more color and dimension.
Good luck and have fun!!

Incredible Student Creations! An Art Project
I was impressed with their fabulous creations!
here are two of the finished pieces.
This was a very easy project. I copied several sets of the doodle/design pages and gave them to the groups of kids to share. They had to create a simple "stick" picture, and then they could begin cutting. Next, they had to arragne their pieces on an 8x8 what paper...once they were happy with their work, they could glue the pieces down. The last step was coloring, (we talked about color schemes and patterning) most students were just getting to this point.
I have a personal copier in my classroom, so I actually copied each student's creation before letting them color (just incase they made a mistake...so they wouldn't have to start over from scratch).
Prepositions with "Fred the Worm"
Introducing Fred the Worm.......Yes, my students named him. This activity of identifying prepositions through the use of Fred in relation to the apple, really made things click. Give it a try!

Preposition VS Adverb....It's a Freebie!
My students seemed to be having a hard time distinguishing between an adverb and a preposition. To help clear up their confusion, I created a simple foldable, based around a list of "cross over" words, and the key to telling the difference between the two.
"CLICK HERE" to get your ready to use copy!
Direct students to fold the top edge down until it meets the tops of the box (the one in the middle of the page). Have them repeat this step with the bottom edge of the paper, meeting the bottom of the box in the middle of the page. After taking notes on the inside, I asked students to write themselves some reminders on the outside flaps...creating their own little set of reminder notes.

Suggested Front loading: Prior to providing the students with their papers, brainstorm test-taking strategies.
Discuss, together, what the strategies mean and how students can implemented.
The page is set up with 4 links per sheet. The strips can be pre-cut by the teacher or the students can locate the scissors icon and cut along the dotted line.
A week or more prior to testing have students complete the links, then each day, have students remove the bottom link and review what was written.
Students can then share their strategy with their table team or a partner (this is a good time to have them implement the Give One/Get One Strategy).
